We are thrilled to announce the release of Keikai 6, which introduces a range of exciting features and performance enhancements.

Notably, we've upgraded the underlying zpoi to Apache POI 5.2.4, providing support for Array Formulas and incorporating 55 additional formula functions right out of the box. This upgrade promises more versatility and power when working with spreadsheets.

In response to user feedback and to enhance overall usability, we've introduced row and column grouping, providing users with more intuitive organization options. The addition of formula auto-completion and syntax highlighting further streamlines the formula editing process, making it more efficient and user-friendly.

We've also put a strong focus on performance improvements, resulting in a faster and smoother experience, particularly in operations like cloning books and clearing dependencies within a range. In terms of security, we've updated 3rd party dependencies to address vulnerabilities, ensuring a more secure environment for our users.

Keikai 6 is released for both Java EE and Jakarta EE. We extend a warm invitation to explore Keikai 6 and benefit from its new features and boosted performance.

Please take note that Keikai 6 now requires ZK 10 and Java 11 or later versions. If you are currently using an older ZK or JDK version, please upgrade to a compatible version before making the switch to Keikai 6.

Upgrade Notes

Keikai 5.12.0 comes with ZK 9.6.2; if you are using Maven, please include both the Keikai EE repository and the ZK EE repository in your pom file, since ZK 9.6.2 is only available in the ZK EE repository. Alternatively, you can specify a preferred ZK version in your pom file.
5.12.0 transitively depends on ZK 9.6.2 which exists in ZK EE repository. If you do not have access to 9.6.2, use dependency management to adjust transitive ZK dependencies versions to latest public release. (as of July 2023: 9.6.0.2)
